Ms. Andrews is a nationally recognized speaker, author and educational consultant and has written more than 80 peer-reviewed articles. She received her B.S.D.H. from University of Southern California, where she was later a clinical instructor. Ms. Andrews practiced clinical Dental Hygiene for 20 years. She has consulted with individual and large dental facilities, dental laboratories and dental corporations on clinical safety and OSHA compliance. Dr. Balanoff received his dental degree from Northwestern University and his masters in craniofacial research from Nova Southeastern University. He is an adjunct assistant clinical professor at University of Tennessee and a former assistant clinical professor at Nova Southeastern University teaching postgraduate prosthodontics; specifically implant surgery and reconstruction to the prosthodontic residents. Dr. Balanoff is the owner of a multilocation fee for service group practice in the south Florida area. Dr. Alan A. Boghosian is a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery in the Division of Dental Surgery of the Department of Surgery, at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine where he coordinates clinical research investigations. Dr. Boghosian maintains a private practice in downtown Chicago devoted primarily to restorative dentistry. He has authored numerous publications and has lectured internationally on the subjects of dental materials and restorative procedures. Dr. Boghosian is a member of the International Association of Dental Research and a Fellow in the American College of Dentists and Academy of Dental Materials. In 1996 he was the recipient of the Gordon J. Christensen Recognition Lecturer Award of the Chicago Dental Society. Dr. Boghosian is a media spokesperson for the American Dental Association. Dr. Burgess is the Assistant Dean for Clinical Research and the Director of The Biomaterials Graduate Program at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He graduated from Emory University School of Dentistry and completed graduate training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He completed a General Practice Residency and a General Dentistry Residency in the Air Force. He served as military consultant to the Surgeon General in General Dentistry and was Chairman of Dental Research and Dental Materials at Wilford Hall Medical Center. Dr. Burgess is a diplomat of the Federal Services Board in General Dentistry and the American Board of General Dentistry. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Dental Materials and the American College of Dentists, and an elected member of The American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and The American Restorative Academy. Eve Cuny is the Director of Environmental Health and Safety and Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and Medicine at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. She has consulted with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, American Dental Association, California OSHA, California Dental Board and other agencies on issues related to safety and infection control in dentistry. She has presented over 100 continuing education programs throughout the world and published numerous articles and textbooks. Dr, Daher is Assistant Clinical Professor, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Daher completed his undergraduate studies in Mathematics at the American University of Beirut. He received his DMD degree from Boston University and his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at Boston University and Tufts University. Christine Ellison, AS, Practice Development Coach, The Schuster Center. Christine Ellison is a native of Roanoke, Virginia. After graduating from Monterey Peninsula College in 1972, Chris worked first as a surgical assistant in both periodontal and oral surgery practices and later as a clinical coordinator, financial coordinator and front office manager. Chris subsequently supervised and trained dental assistant interns from Foothill College in Los Altos, CA. Ms. Ellison has been a practice development coach since 1998. She is the mentor coordinator for The Schuster Center’s advanced programs, a member of the faculty and also a contributing member of the curriculum development team.

Dr. Florman received his dental degree from the Ohio State University and completed his post graduate training in Orthodontics at New York University. Dr. Florman is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and has been practicing dentistry since 1991. He is highly respected as both an orthodontist and an educator. He has authored over forty scientific publications in the field of dentistry and medicine. Stuart J. Froum, DDS is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He earned his dental doctorate from New York University College of Dentistry after graduating with a BA from Brooklyn College. Dr. Froum then completed a general dentistry internship at Brooklyn Veterans Administration Hospital and a periodontal residency at New York Veterans Administration Hospital.

Currently, Dr. Froum is a Clinical Professor of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry and the Director of Clinical Research (Department of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry) at New York University Dental Center. He is also a clinical assistant professor in periodontics at the Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Froum is a Trustee of the American Academy of Periodontology and sits on the editorial review board of Middle East Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is on the research committee of the American Academy of Osseointegration and the continuing education oversight committee of the American Academy of Periodontology, who recently awarded him an honor.

Dr. Manish Garala received his dental degree in 1996 from Turner Dental School, University of Manchester, England. Between 1996 and 1999, he successfully completed his Vocational and General Dental Practitioner Degrees at Hope Dental Practice, Manchester, England. During this time, he developed a strong passion for endodontics, which led him to pursue a career as an endodontic specialist. He completed his Postgraduate Degree in Endodontics at Nova Southeastern University, Florida in 2002, with a Master of Science in Education.

Dr. Garala has been in private practice in Houston, Texas, since 2002, and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He is a committee member for the GHDS and the AAE, and serves on the Advisory Council on Endodontics for Sybron Endodontics.

Dr. Garala has lectured globally, most notably at AAE Annual Meetings (2002-2004), (2008) IFEA (2001), and the Academy of General Dentistry (2007). He has written scientific papers for the International Endodontic Journal and the Journal of Endodontics, examining root canal preparation using Nickel Titanium systems. He has authored a chapter discussing canal preparation objectives for Dr. John McSpadden’s comprehensive text, “Mastering Root Canal Preparation”. He has recently achieved the status of Diplomate in Endodontics, following successful completion of examinations from the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Susan Goodin graduated with a PharmD. and is the director in the division of pharmaceutical sciences at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey and associate professor of medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey.

Dr. Goodis is a full-time practicing Endodontist in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He received his DDS from the University of Michigan, his GPR Certificate from the University of Minnesota and his Certificate of Endodontics from the University of Connecticut. His major at the Universityof Michigan was Mechanical Engineering. It was this background, combined with his experience in Endodontics that led to the development of the Integrated Shaping Technique and the Guidance V-Taper Endodontic System. Dr. Hefferren graduated from Loyola University, Chicago in 1950 with a BS in chemistry with mathematics and physics minors. He continued his studies at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, achieving an MS and Ph.D. in pharmaceutical chemistry with minors in organic and biochemistry. From 1954 to 1959, he was with the American Medical Association, Chicago, after which he joined the American Dental Association, Chicago, where he remained until 1986. Dr. Hefferren taught at Northwestern University, Chicago from 1956 to 1986 as a professor of oral biology. Since 1986, he has been a research professor at the University of Kansas, Lawrence. Currently, Dr. Hefferren remains a research professor as well as president of Odontex, Inc., Lawrence, KS Research Consultants. His research interests include oral care agent assessment methods; site-specific, controlled release drug delivery systems for intraoral/systemic functionality; and oral and systemic aspects of nutraceuticals and custom foods.

Dr. Paul Homoly is regarded as one of the top practice and personal development coaches in dentistry. Dr. Salierno received his B.S. from Muhlenberg College and his D.D.S. from SUNY Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. He completed his formal training at Stony Brook Hospital’s General Practice Residency program where he focused on implant prosthetics. While in dental school, he was the National President of the American Student Dental Association. Today, he continues his advocacy efforts with the New York State Dental Association and Suffolk County Dental Society. Dr. Salierno lectures on his particular areas of interest, including occlusion, dental materials, prosthodontics, and implant prosthodontics. He enjoys helping audiences integrate the latest research into everyday practice. In 2005, he returned to his former dental school as an Assistant Clinical Professor.

Dr. Schiff was born in Budapest, Hungary, (before the Second World War) and educated at the Semmelweiss University Medical School until the Hungarian uprising in 1956. He then immigrated to the United States and furthered his education at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. He received a DMD degree in 1961. He practiced and did research at the Monsanto Chemical Company for 19 years. Afterwards he entered into academia and since has been teaching radiology. Dr. Schiff was trained in advanced radiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. At present, he is the endowed professor and chair of maxillofacial radiology at University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.

Francis G. Serio, DMD, MS, MBA, FICD, FACD, FADI Dr. Francis G. Serio is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Periodontics and Preventive Sciences at the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Serio completed his undergraduate studies at The Johns Hopkins University and received his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his MS and certificate in Periodontics at the University of Maryland and his MBA from Millsaps College. Cher Thomas, R.D.H. became a renal transplant recipient in 1999, and has lived with kidney disease for the past decade. For over twenty five years she has practiced as both a registered dental hygienist and dental assistant in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and public health settings. Dr. Rob Veis began 24 years ago as a general dentist, and taught for twelve years at the University of Southern California as a Clinical Professor in Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Veis lectures for the AGD/California masters program. He also lectures internationally, on the integration of orthodontics and appliance therapy into the general practice on behalf of Space Maintainers Laboratories where he has been a member of the teaching staff since 1990.
